Backlash Beer started in 2011 as a contract-brewed, Boston based brand. We originally began with a Belgian-style beer focus, however in 2014 we shifted to mostly hop-forward beers. Our IPAs and Double IPAs are among the highest rated in the state of Massachusetts, but we look to experiment with a variety of beer styles at our facility. Our new 7,000 square foot brewery and taproom is located in up the and coming Roxbury neighborhood, a mile outside of the South End. Bully Boy Distilling, Prospect Ciderworks and Dorchester Brewing Company are all located within a mile from us, making this corner of the city a bit of a fermentation destination with a lot of potential to attract even more businesses in the future.

The space features amazing natural light, a game area and a 30 foot bar which seats 25 people, with an overall maximum capacity of 120 customers at any given time. Our space also features a gated parking lot with 24 spaces which is ours exclusively after 4pm during the week, and all day on the weekends. We normally have up to 10 beers on draft and cans to-go, as well growlers and merchandise for sale.

The customer’s experience is our top priority at the Taproom. For most of our guests, the bartenders will be their first impression of Backlash Beer. As such, it is the responsibility of every employee to ensure our patrons feel welcomed and appreciated. We expect our bartenders to enhance the customer’s experience by providing a fun, clean and comfortable environment as well as a knowledgeable description of our beers, being able to make recommendations based on our patrons’ preferences.
